Weddings at Christ Church
To discuss booking your wedding at Christ Church please contact Helen Millard (Licenced Lay Minister) on 01495 350348
Christ Church is a beautiful and traditional setting for you to exchange your wedding vows to each other.
Once you have chosen an available date for your wedding ceremony you will be invited to discuss your wedding arrangements.
You will then attend a Marriage Preparation meeting which is normally held on a Saturday in the vestry at Christ Church. Please allow about an hour and a half for this meeting. Here we chat about the service in church and married life.
Banns are a legal requirement for church weddings. Your intention to marry is announced by the priest on three consecutive Sundays in the month prior to your wedding. They must be read in your home parish church, as well as in the church where the ceremony is to take place. You will be notified of the services you can attend to hear your banns being read out. If you live in the parish but getting married in another church, please contact the above number to arrange for your banns to be read.

There will be a wedding rehearsal prior to your actual ceremony during which you will walk through the service to ensure it all goes smoothly on the big day!
“According to the Bible, the marriage act is more than a physical act. It is an act of sharing. It is an act of communion. It is an act of total self-giving wherein the husband gives himself completely to the wife, and the wife gives herself to the husband in such a way that the two actually become one flesh.” ~ Wayne Mack
